Summary

Aegis Power Systems, Inc. is seeking an associate-level Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and troubleshoot power electronics hardware. Come join our growing team for an on-site position in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina!

As an Electrical Engineer you will have hands-on input to many aspects of our product development cycle. This position works closely with other engineering team members to design AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters and inverters using a variety of power topologies, thermal mitigations, and controls. Further, you will work in a cross-functional setting to gather and provide valuable insight to the feasibility, integrity, manufacturability, and quality of the design output. Our power electronics hardware is integrated to support many robust military systems in real-world applications such as radar, RF, communications, mission computing, battery charging, onboard power, autonomous systems, and more. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Aegis Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a Full Stack Embedded Engineer to develop, design, and maintain software functionality that facilitates user and inter-device interaction in power electronics applications.

The Embedded Engineer is responsible for ensuring firmware programming meets customer demands and internal development projects. This position works closely with our electrical engineers who design AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters and inverters using a variety of power topologies. Candidate must have a programming background using microcontrollers for use in real time analog and digital controls with serial interfaces including CAN, UART, I2C, Ethernet, and others. Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electronics Laboratory Technician with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology to join our team as a in the beautiful mountains of NC! This Lab Technician position focuses on supporting electrical engineering functions, including troubleshooting, programming, and testing of innovative power electronics software functionality that solve real-world problems in the realm of efficient power conversion for high power and low power devices. This position is responsible for designing development tests, creating and managing test fixtures, operating and maintaining electronic test equipment, technical analysis of test results, reading schematics and debugging electronic prototype products.

Ideal candidate will have experience in AC-DC, DC-AC, and DC to DC power conversion for ground and air defense systems, operational knowledge of data/telecommunications and embedded computing applications, and electronic repair and maintenance skills. He/she should be a self-starter, drawing on proven field experience to test and debug complete end-to-end power electronics embedded firmware solutions.

The Electronics Lab Technician should be creative, self-motivated, organized, and visionary. The best candidate will be a team-player with good verbal and written English communication skills. Summary

Aegis Power Systems, Inc., a power electronics engineering and manufacturing firm, seeks an Engineering Sales Representative to join our growing sales team! This position supports technical sales of custom and standard products and reports directly to the department manager. The candidate will be expected to build technical customer relationships, achieve individual and company revenue objectives, and influence the Aegis product roadmap.

The candidate should be familiar with electronics hardware manufacturing and can effectively communicate the technical aspects of AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters and inverters, along with other power electronics-related products. Experience related to defense systems, mission computing, shipboard/marine electronics, and/or aircraft systems is of high value, as a large portion of our customers are in the defense industry.

The Engineering Sales Representative should excel at verbal and written communication in English. This role is heavily customer-facing, and the candidate must feel comfortable regularly engaging customer personnel in engineering, program management, procurement, and military leadership positions.

Cross-team collaboration skills are imperative as the candidate will work with internal engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and support departments. This will include working closely with our engineers to develop custom products as needed to meet unique requirements and provide input regarding Aegis product roadmaps. The candidate must analyze customer needs, keep aware of competitor benchmarking, and advise internally of potential paths to meet market needs. Experience developing and reviewing extensive proposals tailored to meet those requirements is beneficial. Summary

This US-based remote position is responsible for generating customer leads, qualifying them, and in some cases, winning business.  This role supports the company's national sales and marketing efforts, reporting directly to the Chief Sales Strategist. The BDAS is expected to build customer relationships and work with the Sales Team to achieve company revenue objectives and strategic growth plans.

The BDAS should be familiar with electronics hardware design and manufacturing, including the capability to ask questions effectively to help qualify power conversion leads.

The BDAS should have a hunter's mindset and excel at verbal and written English communication skills, emotional intelligence, and nonverbal communication. This role is heavily customer-facing, so the BDAS must feel comfortable regularly engaging customer personnel from various roles such as engineering, program management, procurement, corporate leadership, and military leadership positions.

Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• With direction from the Sales Chief, you are responsible for supporting the new opportunity zone investigations at the beginning of the sales funnel by identifying the following:
  • new customers (logos) and new projects
  • new divisions at existing customers
  • new projects at existing customers
• Find opportunities and manage Aegis’ response to SBIR, OTA, and other R&D funding solicitations available from the U.S. government.
  • Actively write solicitation responses, working with other sales team members.
• Generate Leads from the following
  • Cold and warm customer contacts from industry events, virtual communications, and on-site visits.
  • Coordinate lead generation campaigns (content and webinars)
• Engage prospective customer contacts to perform the initial lead qualification using criteria developed by the entire sales team.

The Assembler is responsible for building electronic power conversion products. This includes mechanical assembly, wiring, soldering, and inspection of completed work. Assemblers are expected to maintain a high level of workmanship, follow documented procedures, and ensure compliance with IPC and company quality standards. Attention to detail, safe work practices, and consistent attendance are critical to success in this role. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Perform assembly tasks including mechanical building, wiring, and soldering of electronic products. 
• Follow work instructions, drawings, and quality standards to ensure proper assembly. 
• Use hand tools and soldering equipment safely and effectively. 
• Inspect completed work to IPC-A-610 standards before submitting for final quality check.

Summary: 

The Senior Technician supports manufacturing and engineering by independently performing testing, troubleshooting, and repairing Aegis Power Systems’ products. This role builds on the Technician position by requiring greater expertise in electronics, deeper troubleshooting skills, and ownership of test and repair activities. The Senior Technician ensures that products meet quality and reliability standards and provides technical guidance to less experienced technicians when needed. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Perform bench testing, acceptance testing, and verification procedures on power electronics products. 
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies and power supplies at both the board and system level. 
• Develop and update test procedures and work instructions in compliance with ISO9001, AS9100, and IPC requirements. 
• Build and maintain test fixtures, jigs, and setups to support product testing. 
• Ensure the readiness, calibration, and proper use of test equipment. 
• Accurately document test results, repairs, and corrective actions. 
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to Technicians as needed. 
• Support Manufacturing and Engineering with root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities. 
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. 

Qualifications: 

• Minimum: 2 Year AA or AS Degree in Electronics or related field, or equivalent experience 
• Preferred: 4 Year Technical Degree or 5+ years of experience in power electronics testing and repair. 
• Advanced knowledge of electronic components, circuitry, and schematics interpretation. 
• Skilled in the use of test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, etc.) 
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair board-level and system-level issues.

Summary:

• Conduct basic troubleshooting of board-level problems with supervision.
