Summary

Aegis Power Systems, Inc. is seeking an associate-level Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and troubleshoot power electronics hardware. Come join our growing team for an on-site position in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina!

As an Electrical Engineer you will have hands-on input to many aspects of our product development cycle. This position works closely with other engineering team members to design AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters and inverters using a variety of power topologies, thermal mitigations, and controls. Further, you will work in a cross-functional setting to gather and provide valuable insight to the feasibility, integrity, manufacturability, and quality of the design output. Our power electronics hardware is integrated to support many robust military systems in real-world applications such as radar, RF, communications, mission computing, battery charging, onboard power, autonomous systems, and more. The best candidate will be detail oriented, focused on quality and timely schedules, and willing to share his/her skills in a team environment to yield competitive and accurate results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Contribute to deliverables such as: Bill-of-Materials, block diagrams, schematics, drawings, PCB layout, design documentation, specifications, test data results, and other necessary documentation
• Understand and follow assorted industry design standards to ensure product success
• Support design reviews with contributions to improve design, cut costs, improve speed, and ensure accuracy of project
• Effectively use a variety of software, tools, and equipment for design and analysis
• Perform product research to determine commercial viability and patentability of new designs
• Research and specify components to match design parameters
• Manage feasibility studies and technical analysis to support new products
• Record key performance indicators to transition prototypes to production readiness
• Design, build, evaluate and test first generation technically advanced products
• Troubleshoot designs and prototypes to provide failure analysis and resolutions
• Establish and write manufacturing processes for production of hardware
• Manage/control documentation in a timely, efficient manner following internal ISO9001:2015 / AS9100:2016 procedures
• Prepare technical presentations for government agencies, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders
• Support all of the above in an organized, efficient, and safe manner with clear communications in oral, written, and non-verbal forms

Required Education & Experience

• BS in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field
• 3 years’ industry-related work history (can accept lower if hold a Master’s or PhD degree)

Preferred:

• Experience with military electronics standards (MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, etc.) or equivalent automotive standards

Aegis Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team for an on-site position in the beautiful mountains of NC! The Mechanical Engineer is a key position to support our growing power electronics hardware design and manufacturing business. Candidate must have a strong mechanical engineering background in 3D modeling, heatsink design, and thermal analysis.

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring mechanical structures meet customer demands as stated in customer contracts.  This position works closely with Project Engineers who design the electrical components of power electronics requirements to ensure that all details meet customer specifications within scope and on-time. The best candidate will be detail oriented, focused on quality and precision, have a tenacity to reach goals, employ good English communication in verbal and written format, use resourceful problem-solving skills, and engage creatively in design activities.

Responsibilities 

• Working knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD software tools to generate fully developed models of all parts including PWBs, sub-assemblies, and final assembly models.
• Analyze problems to see how mechanical and thermal devices might yield solutions
• Design or redesign mechanical and thermal solutions using analysis and computer-aided design
• Develop and test prototypes
• Manage and control proper documentation according to AS9100D practices
• Understand the requirements of IEEE, UL, and/or Military Standards as they relate to the design.
• Project management
• Work closely with customers and engineering team
• Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of product catalog
• Maintain strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suite, AutoCAD drafting software
• Continual design and cost improvements
• Heatsink design and analysis (conduction, convection, heat pipes, and liquid cooled)
• Capable of leading and/or performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Thermal Analysis, Structural Joint Strength and Sealing Analysis, Structural Durability Damage Accumulation Analysis, Environmental and Aging Analysis, and Geometric Package Environment Analysis.

Minimum Education, Skills, & Experience

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar technical field
• Strong ability to understand engineering documents
• Experience with designing mechanical structures for electronics
• 3 years’ industry-related work history with measurable mechanical design or mechatronics experience
• Working knowledge of military, automotive, and telecom standards (vibration, shock, EMI, environmental, etc.)

Compensation Details

Job type: Full-time preferred (part-time is possible if desired by candidate)

Location: On-site Murphy, NC (Relocation support provided for moving, for right candidate.)

Responsibilities

Aegis Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a Finance Data Analyst to join our team for an on-site position in the beautiful mountains of NC!  The Financial Data Analyst works closely with the Controller and company leadership to help evaluate future earnings and investments. This role requires analyzing historical financial data to provide guidance to the company in optimizing investments to maximize profit.  At Aegis, analysts work with company financial statements, performance of investments in capital equipment and new enterprises, financial target setting, macroeconomic data, company valuations, industry research and more to create impactful inputs into on key decisions driving growth and profitability in the Company.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with Controller and other leadership within the company.
• Main areas of concentration will include financial modeling and valuation analysis, data management, historic and current performance to targets analysis, as well as written communication of findings.
• Utilize technical skills to analyze key financial data, interpret results and forecast business outcomes and profits.
• Measure financial risk associated with investment decisions.
• Prepare documentation to help the company secure funding for future investments.
• Effectively communicate financial information and develop executive presentations.
• Assist with the creation and completion of the budgets and forecasts, variances reporting, and product pricing.
• Assist in preparation of financial reports on a determined schedule.
• Extract financial data from ERP software and populate reports, automating as many processes as possible.
• Develop financial dashboards with key stakeholder views that communicate measures of key indicators critical to stakeholders’ decision making responsibilities.
• Studying industry-specific business trends and research data
• Writing data-backed reports to support the management team in taking strategic business decisions.

Minimum Education, Skills, & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance, or CFA certification by an accredited institution and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Data Science
• 5+ years of experience as a Finance Analyst
• 2+ years demonstrated experience in finance or business processes preferred
• Understanding of conceptual framework of accounting rules, processes, and ratios
• Highly organized with exceptionally strong technical and math skills
• High level skillset using database tools and spreadsheet software such as SQL and Excel, advanced modern data skills preferred, (e.g. Pivot Tables, Solvers, Python for more complex data amalgamation)
• Experience choosing the most concise data visualization tools for creating reports on analyzed data or to create live dashboards and reports.
• Ability to quickly learn industry-related regulations quickly and utilize information in written reports
• Effective communicator of financial information with direct experience developing executive presentations for both oral and written delivery
• Able to translate financial information to various business audiences to drive decision making
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter, able to work independently with minimal direction and as a key contributor in team environments
• Exhibits an entrepreneurial mindset when executing projects to guarantee the attainment of the most streamlined and efficient solution, leading to improved outcomes
