Summary

Aegis Power Systems, Inc. is seeking an associate-level Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and troubleshoot power electronics hardware. Come join our growing team for an on-site position in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina!

As an Electrical Engineer you will have hands-on input to many aspects of our product development cycle. This position works closely with other engineering team members to design AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters and inverters using a variety of power topologies, thermal mitigations, and controls. Further, you will work in a cross-functional setting to gather and provide valuable insight to the feasibility, integrity, manufacturability, and quality of the design output. Our power electronics hardware is integrated to support many robust military systems in real-world applications such as radar, RF, communications, mission computing, battery charging, onboard power, autonomous systems, and more. The best candidate will be detail oriented, focused on quality and timely schedules, and willing to share his/her skills in a team environment to yield competitive and accurate results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to deliverables such as: Bill-of-Materials, block diagrams, schematics, drawings, PCB layout, design documentation, specifications, test data results, and other necessary documentation
  • Understand and follow assorted industry design standards to ensure product success
  • Support design reviews with contributions to improve design, cut costs, improve speed, and ensure accuracy of project
  • Effectively use a variety of software, tools, and equipment for design and analysis
  • Perform product research to determine commercial viability and patentability of new designs
  • Research and specify components to match design parameters
  • Manage feasibility studies and technical analysis to support new products
  • Record key performance indicators to transition prototypes to production readiness
  • Design, build, evaluate and test first generation technically advanced products
  • Troubleshoot designs and prototypes to provide failure analysis and resolutions
  • Establish and write manufacturing processes for production of hardware
  • Manage/control documentation in a timely, efficient manner following internal ISO9001:2015 / AS9100:2016 procedures
  • Prepare technical presentations for government agencies, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders
  • Support all of the above in an organized, efficient, and safe manner with clear communications in oral, written, and non-verbal forms

Required Education & Experience

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field
  • 3 years’ industry-related work history (can accept lower if hold a Master’s or PhD degree)

Preferred:

  • Experience with military electronics standards (MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, etc.) or equivalent automotive standards

Aegis Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team for an on-site position in the beautiful mountains of NC! The Quality Engineer is a key position to support our growing power electronics hardware design and manufacturing business. Candidate must have a strong quality engineering background in 6-sigma, ISO/AS procedures, and electronic product development and manufacturing.  Aegis desires candidates pursuing an opportunity to demonstrate superior excellence in leadership, skills in quality processes, and drive to take on increasing responsibilities.

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring electronic products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the consumer.  This position works closely with Project Engineers who design the electrical and mechanical components of our products to ensure that all details meet to customer specifications within scope and on-time. The best candidate will be detail oriented, focused on quality and precision, have a tenacity to reach goals, employ good English communication in verbal and written format, use disciplined problem-solving skills, and fully understand the requirements for the product or service while demonstrating a sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers as well as the competition.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement quality standards per ISO9001:2015/AS9100D:2016, or others as may become necessary.
  • Accomplish quality assurance objectives by monitoring, reviewing, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Train and motivate employees to ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing to methodical information analysis.
  • Meet financial objectives by estimating requirements, preparing annual budgets, and scheduling expenditures.
  • Develop quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses and monitoring procedures.
  • Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes.
  • Investigate customer complaints, develop corrective action plans, and verify effectiveness

Minimum Education, Skills, & Experience

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar technical field
  • Strong ability to understand engineering documents
  • Proven experience on quality team with 3 year’s industry work history
  • Conscientious and responsible
  • A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products
  • In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
  • Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of 6-sigma analysis/statistical methods
  • Working knowledge of military, automotive, and telecom standards (vibration, shock, EMI, environmental, etc.)
  • AS 9100 auditor training is a strong advantage

Summary

Aegis Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a Finance Data Analyst to join our team for an on-site position in the beautiful mountains of NC!  The Financial Data Analyst works closely with the Controller and company leadership to help evaluate future earnings and investments. This role requires analyzing historical financial data to provide guidance to the company in optimizing investments to maximize profit.  At Aegis, analysts work with company financial statements, performance of investments in capital equipment and new enterprises, financial target setting, macroeconomic data, company valuations, industry research and more to create impactful inputs into on key decisions driving growth and profitability in the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Controller and other leadership within the company.
  • Main areas of concentration will include financial modeling and valuation analysis, data management, historic and current performance to targets analysis, as well as written communication of findings.
  • Utilize technical skills to analyze key financial data, interpret results and forecast business outcomes and profits.
  • Measure financial risk associated with investment decisions.
  • Prepare documentation to help the company secure funding for future investments.
  • Effectively communicate financial information and develop executive presentations.
  • Assist with the creation and completion of the budgets and forecasts, variances reporting, and product pricing.
  • Assist in preparation of financial reports on a determined schedule.
  • Extract financial data from ERP software and populate reports, automating as many processes as possible.
  • Develop financial dashboards with key stakeholder views that communicate measures of key indicators critical to stakeholders’ decision making responsibilities.
  • Studying industry-specific business trends and research data
  • Writing data-backed reports to support the management team in taking strategic business decisions.
  • Maintain and enhance models for forecasting expenses and incorporating drivers of variances into future model improvements.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Company’s in-house financial systems; create and maintain reports and models using in-house financial systems; automate the use of in-house financial systems to enable real-time reporting of key metrics.

Minimum Education, Skills, & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance, or CFA certification by an accredited institution and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Data Science
  • 5+ years of experience as a Finance Analyst
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience in finance or business processes preferred
  • Understanding of conceptual framework of accounting rules, processes, and ratios
  • Highly organized with exceptionally strong technical and math skills
  • High level skillset using database tools and spreadsheet software such as SQL and Excel, advanced modern data skills preferred, (e.g. Pivot Tables, Solvers, Python for more complex data amalgamation)
  • Experience choosing the most concise data visualization tools for creating reports on analyzed data or to create live dashboards and reports.
  • Ability to quickly learn industry-related regulations quickly and utilize information in written reports
  • Effective communicator of financial information with direct experience developing executive presentations for both oral and written delivery
  • Able to translate financial information to various business audiences to drive decision making
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter, able to work independently with minimal direction and as a key contributor in team environments
  • Exhibits an entrepreneurial mindset when executing projects to guarantee the attainment of the most streamlined and efficient solution, leading to improved outcomes
  • Strong self-management skills and ability to adjust as needed to meet shifting priorities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
